About Los Leones
After serving with 131 Commando RE since 2000, I left the Army Reserves in June 2024. During my time in the army, I passed the Reserve Forces Commando Course, Reserve PTI course, deployed on exercises to the US and Belize, as well as serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. On leaving, I had the privilege to hold the rank of Staff Sergeant and lead the Squadrons Signals Wing.
I knew I would miss the camaraderie so I was determined to create a group that would bridge that gap. For me, that’s a project that brings together a new team for new challenges. We’ve christened ourselves Los Leones – the lions. Los Leones is made up of armed forces veterans but also serving military and civilians.
Our focus is on preparation and participation in endurance events, to raise funds for military charities. Looking further ahead, I’ll be finding further inspiring projects. That means tough challenges that require courage, strength and determination. They may be team events, or training support for individuals who raise money for a military charity.
What you can do
Please email me at jason@freestylefunctionalfitness.com if you’d like to help support Los Leones and our fundraising. You may be interested in taking part in one of our events. Or joining the behind-the-scenes team with travel, planning and logistics. We’re not necessarily looking for military experience, but we are looking for fellow lions.
