Gurkha Doko Challenge South – held annually in June
This charity was set up in the late 1960s, by eight of our greatest wartime Field Marshals (including ‘Monty’). It recognises our country’s debt of honour to Gurkha veterans, their widows and their communities. The charity provides financial, medical and community aid in Nepal, using welfare centres spread across traditional recruiting areas. In the UK, they offer advice and support to help retired Gurkhas who have settled here.
